Sifa, senior mobile lawyer

Sifa

I moved to Australia in 2003 to study Law in Perth. I came to Sydney after I graduated and now proudly call it home.

My career has broadly focused on dispute resolution, initially working in private firms. In 2015 I started my first role in the public service, as a senior lawyer in the Office of Solicitor Assisting in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. I have worked in the public sector ever since, including at the Disability Royal Commission before I joined Legal Aid NSW and Your Story Disability Legal Support.

I am passionate about access to justice for vulnerable people in our society. I also volunteer in my community, including working with young African-Australian women to ensure that their lived experiences are recognised and represented in key national conversations.
