Your Story Disability Legal Support to offer support to people experiencing homelessness in Brisbane

In 2016, there were over 5800 people experiencing homelessness in Brisbane.

On Thursday 19 May, Your Story Disability Legal Support will join businesses, community groups and government organisations to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ of free services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Homeless Connect is a one-day event where people can access support including housing referrals, medical support, legal advice, haircuts, food, toiletries and clothing.

Your Story’s Brisbane team will be at the event to raise awareness about the Disability Royal Commission and free supports available.

Homeless Connect is completely run by volunteers and relies on donations from schools, businesses and residents of Brisbane.

The donation drive for the May 2022 Homeless Connect event is running until 6 May 2022. Donate by taking non-perishable food and toiletries to your local ward office or local Council library. For more information, visit the Brisbane City Council website.

Date and time: Thursday 19 May from 9am—2pm AEST
Location: Brisbane Showgrounds, Alexandria Park, Cnr of Gregory Terrace and Alexandria Street, Bowen Hills
