The National Disability Insurance Agency has introduced the IER program to provide better and earlier outcomes for NDIS participants who have lodged an application with the AAT.
Join this free online event to find out about the IER program and the free advocacy and legal support available.
You will hear from two speakers:
- Sam De Lyall is a disability advocate at Disability Advocacy NSW who can provide non-legal information and practical support to people invited to take part in the IER program.
- Nakul Bhagwat is a lawyer at the NDIS Independent Expert Review Advice Service, a free national service that gives independent legal advice and support to people with disability and their families and carers participating in the IER program.
This free online event will be hosted on Zoom and live streamed to Your Story Disability Legal Support’s Facebook page.
It will include Auslan interpreters and live captions. Please let us know of any additional accessibility requirements and your questions for the presenters when you register.

Meet the speakers
Sam De Lyall
Sam is a specialist disability advocate at Disability Advocacy NSW where he has worked since 2019. He assists people with disabilities and their families with a wide range of advocacy issues with a particular focus on supporting participants navigating NDIS Appeals. Sam is also a member of the Independent Expert Review Oversight Committee.
Nakul Bhagwat
Nakul is a senior solicitor in the NDIS and Social Security Team at Legal Aid NSW. He advises and represents people with disability with cases before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal or the Federal Court of Australia.
In his current role with the NDIS Independent Expert Review Advice Service, Nakul leads a team of solicitors that advise NDIS participants who have received a recommendation through the Independent Expert Review process.
Before joining Legal Aid, Nakul worked for Linklaters, an international commercial law firm, in London.
