Disability Royal Commission public hearing: Melbourne 2-6 December 2019
The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability will hold its third public hearing from 2-6 December 2019.
The hearing will investigate housing and accommodation for people with disability, with a particular focus on group homes in Victoria. Group homes refer to supported accommodation for up to six people with disability.
The Royal Commission will hear from people with disability about their personal experiences in group homes and from a number of experts and disability advocacy groups.
We will have a lawyer from the Disability Royal Commission Legal Service at the hearing in Melbourne to give face-to-face legal advice to individuals who are not witnesses at the hearing.
