Your Story Disability Legal Support is responsive to the advice from the Chief Health Officer about the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Our service remains committed to supporting people with disability to understand their legal rights and to share their story with the Disability Royal Commission.
During this time of uncertainty, we remain open. You can call our Infoline (1800 771 800) and reach us through our contact form. We continue to provide legal advice and supports to people over the phone or via Skype/video link.
Recognising the particular vulnerability of people with disability, we have temporarily suspended face-to-face advice, outreach and community engagement activities. We will continue to monitor the advice from the Chief Health Officer to decide when we can resume these activities.
If you prefer or need face-to-face activities, you will not miss out. You can call our Infoline and register for face-to-face legal support in the future. We will contact you when face-to-face services resume.
The Disability Royal Commission has also suspended all face-to-face activities, such as community engagement activities, information session, public hearings and private sessions for the time being. You can still make a voluntary submission to the Disability Royal Commission.
At this time, we are also mindful of the vulnerability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a disability; particularly those living remotely who face reduced access to essential services.
Your Story Disability Legal Support is committed to work in partnership with people with disability and welcomes feedback on how we can better support you to engage with the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with a Disability.
